Karnataka High Court issues notice on reservation for disabled people
D.N.I.S. News Network, India: A Division Bench of the Karnataka High Court comprising Chief Justice, P.D. Dinakaran and Justice Anand Byrareddy has issued notice to Bruhath Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (B.B.M.P.) in response to a Public Interest Litigation (P.I.L.) filed by Karnataka State Physically Handicapped Reservation Forum of Bangalore regarding non-implementation of 3 percent reservation for disabled people.
The P.I.L. called for declaring section seven of Karnataka Municipal Corporation Act, as ‘unconstitutional’, as it does not provide reservation to disabled persons, a clear violation of the Disability Act of 1995.
