D.N.I.S. News Network, India: The education system in the country is finally doing something about including everyone! Recently, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and Central Board of Secondary Education have taken a tough stance to encourage an inclusive environment in schools. And now, joining the bandwagon on the road to inclusive education is the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (I.I.M.B.).
Partnering with MphasiS, an I.T. company, the premier institute plans to start an Office of Disability Services to cater to the academic needs of students and staff with disabilities. The office will ensure that when disabled students get admitted into I.I.M.B., their needs are assessed. After that, it will coordinate with the concerned offices within I.I.M.B. and provide such support as required by the disabled student.
Pankaj Chandra, Director, I.I.M.B. said, “This partnership with MphasiS will enable us to create an inclusive academic world where everyone will get an opportunity to excel without any discrimination.”
